Welcome to my blog!

Welcome. My name is Judy Kimble Williams, author of Not without Hope. I’m so happy to have you as a visitor to my blog about my new book. This project is very special to me, and I hope to share some of that excitement with you here.

I’ll be using this blog to interact with you about Not without Hope, expanding on some of the topics in it and blogging on some of the ideas related to my book. This is a great place for you to get to know me, and I’m looking forward to getting to know you, too. What did you think of Not without Hope? What questions do you have for me? How do you relate to my book?

I’ll be returning here frequently with new posts and responses to feedback from you. Until next time, tell me a little bit about yourself.

  1. Judy, I am so excited to see you have started a blog! I can’t wait to read more. You have been such an incredible encouragement to me in my life and I know you will be to many others as well through your writing!

  2. Blessings to you today! May God, our loving heavenly Father draw you close to himself as you seek Him diligently.
Some days will seem like He is not there, …is not hearing your prayer. This is because we so often base everything on our feelings (emotions.) Our emotions do not have to control us nor determine the choices we make.
One of the greatest discoveries I have ever known is that I can use my WILL to override my emotions, …by faith. There is that word again, ‘faith.’
My choices can be based on my feelings or on Truth! When I choose Truth, God supernaturally takes control and does (performs) for me that which I am unable to do. He does it through me. What a precious blessing!
    “But how,” you ask.
Well, we are born in a body with a soul and a spirit. We are equipped with a (1) mind, (2) will, and (3) emotions. We understand our mind.
My mind is filled with how I was programmed as a child, but also, with what I choose to feed on: my reading material, music, friends with whom I choose to spend time, internet, etc.
My will determines what I choose to do, decisions I make, places I go, etc. My will is always active. To not make a choice is, in itself, a choice. We can stay stuck where we are and remain controlled by the flesh, …our unredeemed flesh, …that which keeps us from gaining victory over staying “stuck” where we are.

Disappointment, loss, rejection, anger, rage, depression, need not control me for all my life.
For instance, I may realize that I was hurt, abandoned, abused by someone and it still hurts. I can, without using my emotions, actively choose to forgive that person(s). It’s an act of obedience; has nothing to do with how I FEEL. God will take that decision seriously and bring healing. This is not a quick fix, usually. Healing takes time and our loving heavenly Father is never in a hurry.

Today, ask yourself, “Why do I feel the way I do?” “How do I see God? Is He trustworthy and compassionate? Or, is He distant, not really caring about my stress/pain?

I must search for Truth and you already know the only real source of Truth. It’s the Bible, …the Word of God. Lies may have distorted the Truth (and we recognize who the ‘father of lies’ is. He loves to keep us from knowing Truth.)
Just begin reading it. Dr. Charles Stanley said, “Read until God speaks to your heart. It may be only one or two verses.” The Psalms and Proverbs are good. And, I’ve always loved Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount in Matthew, chapters 5 and 6. Wonderful, practical teaching.

Until next time, absorb this Truth about God: He IS goodness; He IS patience; He IS love; He IS wisdom and knowledge.
    More, later.

    • Beautiful writing i know this will surely help someone. I pray that everyone gets the healing they so desperately need.

    • I’m so proud of you Aunt Judy. Although I had a somewhat different upbringing I also know what it was like to desperately need validation from my dad. Sadly as a child I never really got it. I am so glad we had our time in my adult years. To hear my mom and dad say they were proud of me always made me feel good. I am so happy you got your blog going. I know you are already touching lives. I love you lots, congratulations!
